Reales  Deforestation,the clearing of forests for other land uses,stands as one of humanity's most pressing environmental concerns.Driven primarily by agricultural expansion,illegal logging,and urban development, it's impacts are far-reaching and severe.Forest are vital carbon sinks absorbing vast amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Their introduction replace this stored carbon, exacerbating climate change. Beyond climate, deforestation critically compromises biodiversity. An example of this is the misuse of public funds, since some officials may steal and overprice government projects. Many fake or unfinished projects are also reported. A lot of these officials use vote buying to win elections. There are also political dynasties, which allow power to stay within the same families, increasing the chances of abuse. A solution to these problems is voting for the right leaders and teaching children how to choose good candidates so that the younger generation can help minimize corruption in the future. Citizens can also participate in protests to call for the end of political dynasties. The nation used to have extensive tropical rainforests but now experiences severe forest loss because of logging activities and the growth of agriculture and mining operations and the spread of urban areas. It affects many parts of society, including government offices, public services, and even local communities. Because of corruption, money that should be used for schools, hospitals, and roads is sometimes lost or misused. This makes it harder for poor families to receive the help they need. As a result, trust in public officials often becomes weak.   One well-known politician who has faced suspicion of corruption is Joseph Estrada. He was accused of receiving illegal gambling payoffs during his time as president. In 2007, he was found guilty of plunder by a special anti-corruption court.
